Hook of Holland, known in Dutch as Hoek van Holland, which translates as ‘Corner of Holland’, is a port in Netherlands’ South Holland province. It is situated on the New Waterway (Nieuwe Waterweg) opposite Harwich in England, the sole destination of its passenger ferry service.

The terminal facilities include a convenience store and a café / bar. All ferries have a shop, currency exchange services, an information desk, video lounge and casino onboard.

The daytime ferries (not including the ‘Caravan Special’) also include several restaurants, a coffeehouse, sports bar, disco bar, business lounge and children’s play area. Train tickets may be purchased at onboard information desks.

The fare includes check-in of up to two pieces of luggage. You may be charged extra if you check in more than two items. Check-in for on foot and vehicle passengers begins 90 minutes prior to departure. Check-in and passenger boarding begins 30 minutes before sailing time.

The terminal building has good wheelchair access, with wheelchair-accessible washrooms. Also, guide dogs are allowed onboard with their owners. Passengers with disabilities should contact Stena Line before traveling, so that the crew can make preparations. Two large passenger lifts provide access between the car deck and the passenger deck. Those with disabilities are encouraged (required for those with companion animals) to contact Stena Line at: +44 8705 70 70 70 in advance to advise of any special needs.

Hook of Holland Ferry Port Information: Ferry Services - Hoek van Holland, South Holland, Netherlands
Stena Line provides ferry service between the Hook of Holland and Harwich, Essex, England. This is the only passenger ferry route into and out of the Hook of Holland, and normally, crossings operate four times a day. The morning service departs at 07:20 and arrives at 10:10 (3 hours, 50 minutes). The afternoon run departs at 16:00 and arrives at 18:30 (3 hours, 50 minutes). The overnight ferry departs at 22:00 and arrives at 03:30 (6 hours, 30 minutes), disembarking at 06:30. A ‘Caravan Special’ departs once each day at 14:30 and arrives at 20:00 (6 hours, 30 minutes). Service is limited during Christmas time (December 24, 25 and 26) and on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day (December 31 and January 1).
